Persistent Neutering recall (15-18 Huracan)

They are persistent about their emission recall campaign to the engine and gearbox with a software update that disguises the true nature of it to effectively neuter the car with less exhaust sounds and quite possibly less performance. I just got my 3rd letter, 2 of them 11 days apart!

They even send you a reply sheet to send back to the US if it can't be checked.

Thanks for this information. I will check it with my dealer on my next service. Most likely the update hasn't been done on mine because my car still sounds the same, or the difference is so subtle that it's unnoticeable.

The Germans at the helm wants all previous car to sound less to entice people to buy their dead quiet Temerario

If you didn't get the letter then I suppose the emissions backlog are not scrutinized in your area.

The only thing I would like from the update is the OBII because that means scan tools would have access to codes and possibly to reset the oil change.

Maybe they are more persistent in Canada. I have only relieved one letter. Staying far away from the Lambo dealer.

California is now officially being slapped with the same recall. The Letter from Lambo wants owners to get a letter of conformity from the dealer and sent to the DMV. Allegedly dealers will not issue a certificate.

Just thought of something the H not meeting OBD requirements, probably the oil life/maintenance interval reset. Since you can't reset it like a normal car by pressing a button or 2 or you can't reset it with an OBDII scan tool.

Luckily my car still sounds the same after last service. I think this nerf is limited to car made in 2020 and later. At least that was what my sales guy told me when they nerfed the STO.

I test drove the car around summer 2022, so yeah it should be the 2021 model. The car had lots of power but the sounds were nerfed. I think Greta and her climate goons ruled during that period.

You don't miss much I think. The car has full cf which felt a tad lighter but the inside had extra interior dampeners that reduced the outside noise. In this version, the door had no inside lever, only a strap that you could pull, all for weight saving. Don't feel much like a true Lambo. In EVO, they removed the dampener and called it an improvement.

The big wing looks nice though better in person than photos.

I remember my sales guy tried so hard to sell me this STO that he redlined it just to open the exhaust flap, hoping the sound would win me over. Sales were terrible during Covid, and the car had been sitting for a while. That was fine, except he started racing on public streets, practically plowing through the roads around the dealership. I don’t know if they had the cops on their payroll or what, but my heart skipped a beat when there were several cars around and panicked pedestrians.

I think some used ones are showing up for sale now, but the prices are still high.

STOs here start at 460K CAD, basically double than the cheaper H for sale.
