Allegedly Donkin Doughnut will open 600-700 stores in Kanadakistan, their slogan, we are going to hire Canadians! Just shows you how corrupt big organizations and government are. I also just learned the government is subsidizing a portion of their paycheck with our taxes instead of hiring local people.

I think this happens all over the world too. In here, convenient store workers are largely foreigners or immigrants. Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Indians. Twenty years ago you wouldn’t see them. They work long hours with zero complaints due to their status, but speak very little of the local language. The local people speak proper language of course, but are much harder to manage because they feel they have certain entitlement, like higher pay. The store owners prefer the former.
